Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University freshman midfielder
Timm Adler (Frankenthal Rheinland-Pfalz Germany/Karolinen-Gymnasium Frankenthal) converted a penalty kick in the 81st minute to break a 1-all tie and give the Flyer men's soccer team the 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Illinois Springfield at Lewis Stadium on Sunday (Oct. 2) afternoon.
With the win, Lewis improves to 3-7 on the campaign and 2-6 in GLVC play, while the visiting Prairie Stars are now 4-6 overall and 4--4 in conference action.
The Flyers received their other goal from freshman midfielder
John Horstman (Godfrey, Ill./Marquette Catholic) at the 68:17 mark.
Lewis goalkeeper
Philip Huang (Flossmoor, Ill./Flossmoor-Homewood) made seven stops in goal to earn the victory for the Flyers.
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Oct. 7), as the Flyers head to St. Louis for a 7:30 PM showdown against Missouri-St. Louis.
