Lewis Women's Soccer Falls To UW-Parkside In Regular-Season Finale, 4-1

Rangers score four unanswered goals to secure win.

Somers, Wis. - The UW-Parkside women's soccer team scored three goals in the final 19 minutes to collect the 4-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Lewis University at Wood Road Soccer Field on Wednesday (Oct. 26) afternoon.

The Rangers picked up goals from Sophia Snyder (44'), Taylor Burek (72'), Jillian Hetfleisch (78') and Maycee Kroening (84') in the win.

With the victory, UW-Parkside improves to 10-5-2 overall and 10-4-1 in GLVC action, while the Flyers drop to 8-9-1 on the season and 6-8-1 in conference play.

Lewis now awaits its postseason fate upon the result of the Bellarmine/Southern Indiana contest. Should Bellarmine win, Lewis will qualify for the GLVC Tournament as the No. 8 seed. If Southern Indiana ties or defeats Bellarmine, the Screaming Eagles will advance to the GLVC Tournament.

Lewis senior forward Jessica Chavez (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) scored the first goal of the game as she gathered in a Kailey Parnello (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Central Catholic) rebound and beat UWP goalkeeper Kayla Tabalske at the 28:32 mark.

Lewis outshot UW-Parkside 13-9 and held a 7-5 advantage over the Rangers in shots on goal.
