Romeoville, Ill. - Despite having three players register double-doubles and rallying from an 11-point, second-half deficit, the Lewis University men's basketball team fell short as Michigan Tech earned the 80-75 (OT) regional victory over the host Flyers in the season opener at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Nov. 12) night.
With the win, Michigan Tech improves to 1-0 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 0-1 on the season.

Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) had a game-high 24 points along with 11 rebounds to lead the Flyers. Lewis freshman forward
Anthony D'Avanzo (Harwood Heights, Ill./Notre Dame) had 11 points and 10 rebounds, while junior forward
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) collected 10 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) pitched in 18 points, including a team-best four three-pointers.
As a team, Lewis shot 45.5% (25-for-55) from the field, while Michigan Tech was limited to a 36.9% (24-for-65) shooting performance. The Huskies, however, took advantage of 16 Lewis turnovers and scored 19 points to the Flyers' four.
Lewis returns to action on Sunday (Nov. 13), as the Flyers welcome Northern Michigan to Neil Carey Arena for a 3 PM tip-off.
