Post Game Conference
Sioux Falls, SD - Thursday (Dec. 8) the Lewis University women's volleyball team went head-to-head with the Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit University and walked away victorious over the champions of the 2015 season.
The Flyers started the match hot taking set one 25-17. Sets two and three were much closer however neither team being able to put the other away easily. Lewis was still able to pick up the win taking set two 26-24 and set three 30-28.
For the match junior
Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) led in kills with 15, while redshirt junior
Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) contributed 12.
Redshirt senior
Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) had 28 digs for the match and redshirt sophomore
Abby Becker (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) had 44 assists.
Lewis as a team had a .205 hitting percentage for the match compared to the Cardinals' .103 percent. With the win the Flyers move to 29-7, while Wheeling Jesuit finishes it's season 41-3.
The tournament continues tomorrow (Dec. 9) as the Flyers will face Concordia University, St. Paul, match start time set for 8:30 PM ET.
