Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University women's soccer team extended its home winning streak to five matches with the 3-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over Missouri S&T at Lewis Stadium on Sunday (Sept. 18) afternoon.
The Flyers have not lost at Lewis Stadium since a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Rockhurst on October 23, 2015.
With the victory, Lewis improves to 4-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in GLVC action, while the visiting Miners fall to 1-3 on the campaign and 1-2 in conference play.
Lewis had four shots on goal against Missouri S&T and scored on three of them. The Flyers that found the net included a first half goal from senior
Meg Carmody (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) and second half scores from junior
Angela Toritto (Wood Dale, Ill. /Immaculate Conception) and freshman
Kailey Parnello (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Central Catholic). Carmody scored in the fifth minute, followed by Toritto (43') and Parnello (58').Â
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Sept. 23), as the Flyers head to Louisville for a 3:55 PM ET kickoff against Bellarmine.
