Romeoville, Ill. - Missouri S&T's Unnar Ulfarsson headed in the game-winning goal in the 107th minute, as the visiting Miners claimed the 1-0 (2 OT) Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the Lewis University men's soccer team at Lewis Stadium on Sunday (Sept. 18) afternoon.
Ulfarsson headed in an attempted shot by Miner defender Matt Kilwin for the 'Golden Goal' at the 106:14 mark of the final period.
With the win, Missouri S&T improves to 2-0-3 on the season and 1-0-2 in GLVC play, while the host Flyers fall to 1-5 on the campaign and 0-4 in conference action.
Both teams recorded 16 shots, with Missouri S&T holding an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Lewis returns to action on Friday (Sept. 23), as they head to Louisville for a 6:30 PM ET kickoff against Bellarmine.
