Midland, Mich. - A career-high 26 points for
Adam Pischke (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) helped lead the Lewis University men's basketball team to an 89-72 win at Northwood Saturday (Dec. 30) at Riepma Arena.
Pischke went 9-for-15 (60%) from the floor and 4-for-5 (80%) from three-point range for the Flyers.
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) also went 9-for-15 to finish with 20 points and six rebounds.
Nick Norton (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) tallied 19 points and seven rebounds, while
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) had 18 points and 12 boards.
Lewis (6-7) shot 33-of-56 (58.9%) from the floor and 10-for-19 (52.6%) from beyond the arc. In the second half the Flyers shot 19-for-28 (67.9%) from the floor.
The Flyers outrebounded Northwood (3-9) 34-21.
Lewis jumped out to a 19-10 lead with 13:14 left in the first half, but Northwood battled back to tie the game at 38-38 at the half.
The Flyers trailed 50-49 with 15:42 remaining in the game when they caught fire and pulled away. Over the next 14 minutes, they went on a 39-17 run to lead 88-67 with 1:06 remaining.
The game concluded the nonconference slate for the Flyers. They will return home Thursday (Jan. 4), where they are 4-0 on the year, to take on Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Illinois-Springfield. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Neil Carey Arena.
