Romeoville, Ill. - The five-game win streak for the Lewis University men's basketball team came to an end, as Quincy University claimed the 82-76 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over the host Flyers at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Feb. 11) afternoon.
Lewis junior forward
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) posted a double-double of 22 points - including two three-pointers - and 11 rebounds to lead four Flyers in double-figures.
Flyer sophomore swingman
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) finished with 17 points and five rebounds, while senior guard
Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) had 13 points.
Lewis junior forward
Nick Norton (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) came off of the bench to score 11 points and grab five rebounds.
With the win, Quincy improves to 21-5 on the season and 11-4 in GLVC action, while the Flyers drop to 16-9 overall and 11-4 in conference play.
Lewis shot 45.6% (31-for-68) from the field and 29.6% (8-for-27) from three-point range, while the Hawks drained 50% (31-for-62) of their field goal attempts and 37.5% (9-for-24) of their shots from beyond the arc.
Lewis returns to action on Thursday (Feb. 16), as the Flyers head to Indianapolis for a 7:30 PM ET tip-off against the Greyhounds.
