Somers, Wis. - UW-Parkside held the Lewis University men's basketball team scoreless over the final 2:20, as the host Rangers pulled away for the 69-62 victory over the Flyers in the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular-season finale at DeSimone Gymnasium on Thursday (Feb. 23) night.
Lewis senior guard
Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) collected a game-high 17 points, followed by 15 points and a game-high seven rebounds from junior forward
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay).
Flyer swingman
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) finished with 12 points in the loss.
With the win, UW-Parkside improves to 21-6 overall and 13-5 in GLVC action, while the Flyers drop to 16-12 on the campaign and 11-7 in conference play.
Lewis shot 43.6% (24-for-55) from the floor and 23.1% (3-for-13) from three-point range, while the host Rangers knocked down 45.3% (24-for-53) of their shots and 37.5% (9-for-24) of their long distance attempts.
Lewis has earned the No. 7 seed in the upcoming 2017 Deaconess GLVC Championship Tournament. The Flyers will host No. 10 seed Saint Joseph's at 3 PM on Sunday (February 26) at Neil Carey Arena.
