Kansas City, Mo. - Rockhurst University completed the series sweep over the Lewis University baseball team on Sunday (Feb. 26), as the host Hawks beat the Flyers, 7-3 and 4-3, in a pair of regional contests at Bourke Field.

With the sweep, Rockhurst improves to 6-0 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 0-4 on the season.

Lewis is back in action on Sunday (March 5), as the Flyers head to Auburndale, Fla., for a 2:45 PM ET doubleheader against Notre Dame (OH).

Rockhurst broke open a 2-all tie in the fourth inning with five unanswered runs en route to the win.

The Hawks opened with a 2-0 lead, before Lewis designated hitter Kenny King (Orland Park, Ill./Providence ) tied the game up with a two-run homer in the fourth inning.

Lewis starting pitcher Robert Talarico (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) took the loss for the Flyers. Talarico allowed five runs - four earned - and four hits in five innings of work, while striking out five batters.

Rockhurst used three pitchers to limit the Lewis batters to four hits and struck out four Flyers in the opening game.

Lewis sophomore left fielder Connor Rutherford (DePere, Wis./DePere) provided the offensive fireworks for the Flyers with a two-run homer in the seventh inning.

Flyer starting pitcher Dalton Hottle (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville) took the loss, as he allowed two runs and three hits in five innings of work, while fanning five batters.
