Evansville, Ind. - The Lewis University men's basketball team will have an opportunity to defend its 2016 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Championship.
Lewis junior reserve forward
Nick Norton (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) scored all 15 of his points in the second half to lead five Flyer players in double-figures in the 85-75 GLVC Championship Tournament Semifinal victory over Truman State at the Ford Center on Saturday (March 4).
Flyer freshman guard
Adam Pischke (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) was 6-for-7 from the field and finished with 14 points and a team-high five rebounds.
Pischke (7 points) and Norton (4 points) spurred a crucial 15-0 Lewis run in the second half to break a 63-all tie with 7:49 left in the contest.

Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) and sophomore swingman
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) each scored 13 points, while freshman forward
Anthony D'Avanzo (Harwood Heights, Ill./Notre Dame) collected 12 points on 6-for-9 shooting.
With the win, Lewis improves to 19-12 and will take on Bellarmine for the 2017 GLVC Championship at 1 PM on Sunday (March 5). The Flyers eliminated Bellarmine in last year's GLVC semifinals. Truman State falls to 22-9 and awaits its NCAA fate.
Lewis shot 54.7% (29-for-53) from the field and 45.0% (9-for-20) from the three-point line. All nine players that saw action for the Flyers scored in the victory.
Truman State hit 49.0% (25-for-51) of its shots and 30.0% (6-for-20) from beyond the arc. Lewis forced 17 Truman State turnovers and scored 19 points off of the Bulldog miscues.
