Kelliher earns second USBWA National Player of the Week honors

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) has been named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's Division II National Player of the Week for the week ending January 21.

The junior forward was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the fifth time this season after averaging a double-double of 27 points and 10.33 rebounds per game in helping the Flyers to three league wins. The Waukesha, Wis., native also shot 65.9 percent from the field and added 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game as Lewis extend its win streak to nine games.
 
In last Monday's 87-51 win at Wisconsin-Parkside, Kelliher scored 24 points on 8-for-11 shooting, while grabbing 10 rebounds and recording three assists and a steal. She followed that up with 31 points on 11-for-17 shooting to go with 11 boards, two assists and a steal in a 71-57 win over Rockhurst on Thursday, marking the fifth time this season she has scored at least 30 points in a game. Kelliher concluded the week with 26 points on 8-for-13 shooting, while also tallying 10 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a 65-51 win over William Jewell on Saturday.
 
Kelliher, who was also named the USBWA Women's DII National Player of the Week for the week of January 7, leads NCAA Division II in scoring with 25.2 points per game and is third in field goal shooting percentage at 66 percent.
