QUINCY, Ill. – Lewis University's men's basketball team ended the game on an 18-4 run over the final 5:12 to overcome a 13-point deficit for a 76-75 win at Quincy on Saturday afternoon.
Adam Pischke (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) scored seven points in the final run including the game-winning three from the top of the key with 10.5 left to give the Flyers (10-11, 5-6 GLVC) their second straight win.

Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) started the rally hitting a pair of free throws and then after a steal by
Brandon McCombs (Jacksonville, Ill./Jacksonville),
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) made a layup to cut the deficit to single digits.
Pischke followed with a jumper with 3:14 left but Demetrius Houston made 1-of-2 free throws for the Hawks (7-13, 3-8 GLVC) to push the lead back to eight points. Pischke answered with another jumper to cut the margin to six but Marcus Hinton countered on the other end with a three to make it 75-66 with 2:27 left.
Blaylock brought Lewis back to within six with a layup and a free throw with 1:13 to go. After a steal by
Donovan Oliver (Kewanee, Ill./Kewanee) he was fouled and made 1-of-2 with 1:08 remaining to bring the Flyers to make it 75-70. Lewis chose to foul and sent Ryan Briscoe to the foul. He missed the front end of the 1-and-1 and Blaylock came down with the rebound.
Blaylock made it a two-point game hitting a three from the left wing off a pass from
Marco Pettinato (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) with 0:55 to play. Robby Dosier had a chance to extend the lead but missed a three late in the shot clock and McCombs came away with the rebound.
Lewis came down, worked the ball around and Pettinato found Pischke wide open at the top of the key for the three giving the Flyers their first lead of the game since early in the second half.
After a Lewis timeout, Quincy had a chance to win the game but Hinton's three from the right wing was off the mark and the clock expired before the Hawks could get off another shot.
Quincy came out of the gates hot knocking down of five its first six attempts from three to build a 20-10 lead five minutes into the game. The Flyers regrouped over the final 15 minutes of the half outscoring the Hawks by nine to head into the locker room trailing 38-37.
Lewis finished the contest shooting 44 percent (27-for-61) from the floor, was 8-of-24 from three and made only 54 percent of its free throw attempts. The Flyers outscored Quincy 30-to-28 in the paint. Wilson led all scorers with 27 points, Blaylock added 18 and Pischke finished with 11. McCombs grabbed nine rebounds while Pischke and Pettinato had five assists each.
The Hawks shot 28-for-59 (47.5 percent) from the field, shot 40 percent from beyond the arc but was only 9-of-15 (60 percent) at the charity stripe. Briscoe led Quincy with 19 points and was joined in double figures by Frasco and Houston with 14 points each. Marsalis Johnson had nine rebounds while Briscoe dished out a game-high six assists.
Lewis returns to Neil Carey Arena on Thursday night hosting Missouri-St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. The Flyers will be giving away fidget spinners for Thursday's contest.
