ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis baseball team picked up a pair of wins Friday (April 13), defeating Wisconsin-Parkside 6-1 and 7-3 at Brennan Field, posting its second and third straight wins. The Flyers improve to 13-18-1 on the year, 6-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, while Parkside falls to 3-20, 2-8.

Game one – Lewis 6, Wisconsin-Parkside 1
The Flyers posted two runs in the first on a two-run single by
Brandon Post (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove). They added a third run in the second on an
Anthony Cavalieri (Western Springs, Ill./Fenwick) single. The Rangers got a run back in the third, but Lewis added three more runs in the fifth.
Austin Tittle (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) drove home two runs with a single to center and Post doubled, scoring Tittle.

Pete Hamot (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) (4-2) picked up the win, going eight innings, allowing four hits and one earned run, striking out seven batters.
Brady Kostecki (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) pitched a scoreless ninth inning. At the plate Cavalieri,
Neal Tyrell (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) and Post all had two hits each, while Post tallied three RBI and Tittle had two RBI.

Game two – Lewis 7, Wisconsin-Parkside 3
It was again a quick start for the Flyers as they tallied a first inning run on a
Trayvon Johnson (Berkeley, Ill./St. Joseph's) RBI groundout. Tyrell made it 2-0 in the third on a single up the middle, scoring Johnson. Parkside scored twice in the fifth to tie the game, but the Flyers answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Connor Rutherford (DePere, Wis./DePere) singled in a run, Tyrell doubled home two runs and
Troy Hajdukovic (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) walked with the bases loaded. Parkside got a run back in the sixth to make it 6-3 and again Lewis came back with a run of its own on a Tyrell sacrifice fly.

Rutherford went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, while Tyrell was 2-for-3 with four RBI. The Flyers stole seven bases in the contest.
Blake Marks (Gardner, Ill./Gardner-South Wilmington) (5-2) earned the win in six innings of work, allowing three hits and three earned runs, striking out six. Kostecki closed out the game with a scoreless seventh inning.

The two teams are back in action Saturday at Brennan Field, with the first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m..
