LOCKPORT, Ill. – In a final tune-up before the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament, the No. 40 Lewis women's tennis team defeated St. Francis 6-3 Tuesday (April 17) at Challenge Fitness. It is the fourth straight win for the Flyers.

In singles it was the two-time reigning GLVC Player of the Week
Dora Andrejszki (Budapest, Hungary/Dozsa Gyorgy) defeating Sofia Scholl at the No. 1 spot 6-0, 6-2.
Nora Mindiyarova (Moscow, Russia/Gimnasium 1577) beat Merle Schlaeger at No. 2 6-1, 6-2,
Oana Carmen Trus (Sighetu Marmatiei, Romania/Regele Ferdinand) took down Eva Lopez 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 and
Simone Parn (Parnu, Estonia) beat Haley McLain 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4.

The tandem of Andrejszki and Mindiyarova, ranked No. 14 in Division II by the ITA, beat Scholl and Lopez 8-3, while Parn and Trus defeated Schlaeger and Michelle Robert 8-1.

Lewis is now 11-8 on the season, while St. Francis moves to 7-11. Next up for the Flyers is a trip to Springfield, Mo. as they will take on Drury in the GLVC Tournament Friday (April 20) at 1 p.m.
