LOCKPORT, Ill. – In its final match before postseason play, the No. 47 ranked Lewis University men's tennis team defeated St. Francis 8-1 Wednesday (April 18) at Challenge Fitness.
 
It was a clean sweep in doubles for the Flyers as the No. 1 team of 
Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) and 
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia), who are ranked No. 7 by the ITA, defeated Lucas Navarro and Ian Millan 8-4, 
Andre Norasith (Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) and 
Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) topped Miguel Reyos del Sol and Avilash Mishra 8-2 at No. 2 and 
Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) and 
Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) took down Mike Hasler and David Kohler 8-5 at No. 3.
 
In singles it was Lusti topping Mishra 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2, Norasith beating Navarro 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3, Levitin defeating Rayos del Sol 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4, Peterson taking down Hasler 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 and Stimpert beating Kohler 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6. Braschinsky retired in the second set after winning the opening set 7-5 against Ian Millan.
 
The Flyers (11-9) are now ranked No. 4 in the Midwest Region rankings, which were released Wednesday. The top eight teams in the region will qualify for the regional.
 
Lewis now faces off with Maryville in the opening round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Friday (April 20) at 9 a.m.
