Fifth Ranked Flyers Cruise Past Quincy

Lewis gives up fewest points in a game since 2016.

Box Score ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The fifth ranked Lewis women's basketball team cruised to a 91-39 win against Quincy on Saturday afternoon at Neil Carey Arena. 12 different Flyers (11-1, 3-0 GLVC) scored in the contest led by Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) with 17 points.

The 39 points scored by Quincy (4-9, 2-2 GLVC) were the fewest allowed by Lewis since defeating Alderson Broaddus 79-34 on Nov. 18, 2016. Lewis also recorded season bests in field goals allowed (15), three-point field goals made (3) and field goal percentage (25 percent).

The Flyers put the game away with a 20-0 over the final seven minutes of the opening quarter. Kelliher scored 10 of her points in the opening frame as the team shot 67 percent (10-for-15) from the field.

Lewis shot 53 percent (36-for-68) from the field, was 10-of-27 from three and 9-for-11 at the foul line in the contest. It outrebounded the Hawks 46-to-31 and turned 21 Hawk turnovers into 21 points.

The Flyers dominated in the paint outscoring Quincy 50-to-16 and they got 50 points from their bench.

Joining Kelliher in double figures was Gabby Green (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) with 12 points while Reilly Olmstead (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) finished with 11 and Allison Utterback (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) added 10. Carly Graverson (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) and Katie Gardner (Franklin, Wis./Pius XI) finished with six rebounds each and Tierney Lockett (Richton Park, Ill./Rich South) recorded a career-high 11 assists topping her previous career-high of 10 which she set last year at Maryville.

Quincy was led in scoring by Maddie Spagnola with 10 points while Michaela Gronewold added eight points.

Lewis concludes its four game homestand on Tuesday taking on Central State at 5:30 p.m.
