Lewis Men’s Hoops Travels To Ferris State and Findlay This Weekend

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's men's basketball team heads out on the road this weekend traveling to Ferris State and Findlay for a pair of in-region contests. The Flyers take on the Bulldogs on Saturday at 1 p.m. (CST) and then will play Findlay on Monday at 6 p.m. (CST).

Last Time Out – Lewis dropped its home opener to Wayne State 67-66 last Saturday at Neil Carey Arena. Donovan Oliver (Kewanee, Ill./Kewanee) led four Flyers in double figures with 14 points while Anthony D'Avanzo (Harwood Heights, Ill./Notre Dame) added 13, Adam Pischke (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) chipped in with 12 and Brandon McCombs (Jacksonville, Ill./Jacksonville) finished with 10.

About Ferris State – The Bulldogs improved to 6-0 on the season with an 89-78 win over Findlay last Saturday. Dorian Aluyi finished with a game-high 19 points to lead FSU and was joined in double figures by Walt Kelser with 15 while Greg Williams and Mason Pline added 14 and 11 points off the bench respectively.

Lewis – Ferries State Series – The Flyers lead the all-time series with the Bulldogs 12-8. Lewis snapped a four-game losing streak against Ferris State with an 87-79 win last season at Neil Carey Arena. Kendale McCullum (Elgin, Ill./Elgin Larkin) led the Flyers with 20 points in that contest while Oliver added 19 and Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) finished with 13.

About Findlay – The Oilers are 1-3 on the season after dropping an 87-81 decision at Northwood on Monday evening. Aaron Overhiser led three players in double figures with 16 points while Tommy Schmock added 14 and Nathan Bruns had 13.

Lewis – Findlay Series – Monday's contest marks the third meeting all-time between the Flyers and Oilers with each side winning a contest. Findlay won the first meeting between the schools 64-57 in the opening round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament at Grand Valley State. Lewis evened the series with a 76-73 victory a season ago.

Up Next – The Flyers host Illinois Springfield in the GLVC opener for both teams on Tuesday (Dec. 3) at 7:30 p.m.
