ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' women's basketball team wraps up its five game road trip on Sunday as it travels to Big Rapids, Mich., to take on Ferris State at 12 p.m. (CST). The Flyers enter Sunday's contest with a 3-3 record while the Bulldogs are off to a 4-1 start.
Last Time Out – Lewis moved back to .500 with a 73-56 win at Central State last Saturday as nine different players scored in the contest with four reaching double figures.
Katie Gardner (Franklin, Wis./Pius XI) led all scorers with 14 points while
Stephanie Hart (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) added 12 and
Carly Graverson (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) and
Reilly Olmstead (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) added 11 apiece. The Flyers hit 10 three-pointers in the win and shot 50 percent from the field.
About Ferris State – The Bulldogs improved to 4-1 with an 86-75 win over Southern Indiana last Saturday. Riley Blair and Mallory McCartney led the way for FSU with 27 and 22 points respectively while Adrienne Anderson added 15 points off the bench. The Bulldogs have won three straight and are averaging nearly 85 points per contest and are shooting close to 46 percent from the floor.
Series Stuff – Sunday's contest marks the 17th meeting all-time between the Flyers and Ferris State with Lewis holding a 9-7 advantage and have won four straight in the series. Last season, the Flyers defeated the Bulldogs 77-72 in Romeoville. Sunday's contest will be the ninth meeting all-time in Big Rapids with each side winning four contests.
Up Next – Lewis opens up GLVC action next Tuesday hosting Illinois Springfield at 5:30 p.m. It'll be part of a doubleheader as the men's teams will follow at 7:30 p.m.
