ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' men's soccer team rolled past Southwest Baptist 6-1 in its season finale at Lewis Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Jimmy Mwanga (Dublin, Ireland/CBS Lucan) and Sebastian Arguello (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) each scored twice in the victory.

The six goals scored by the Flyers were the most they've scored in a game since defeating McKendree 6-0 on Sept. 30, 2016.

Arguello opened the scoring for Lewis with a goal in the fourth minute. Matt Budreck (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) passed the ball from the top of the box through Alexis Robles-Ibarra's (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) legs to Arguello on the right wing who beat the keeper to the lower right corner for his second goal of the season.

Mwanga made it 2-0 in the 13th minute. Robles-Ibarra took a shot that was saved by the keeper but Mwanga was there to pounce on the rebound for his sixth goal of the season.

The Bearcats (1-16, 1-14 GLVC) cut the lead in half 26 seconds later as Isaiah Waddy and Kevin Zavala played a game of give and go and Waddy was able to score into the lower left corner for his eighth goal of the season.

Mwanga added his second goal of the game and eighth of the season in the 29th minute with an assist from Arguello.

Lewis outshot SBU 10-5 in the first 45 minutes putting six shots on goal to three for the Bearcats.

Arguello made it 4-1 in the 62nd minute converting a penalty kick for his second of the day and third of the season.

Matt Budreck (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) scored his first goal of the season four minutes later volleying home a failed clear attempt by SBU into the upper left corner.

Konrad Malinowski (Arlington Heights, Ill./Wheeling) concluded the scoring going coast-to-coast and finishing in the lower left corner in the 76th minute.

The Flyers finished the game outshooting the Bearcats 21-6, 10-4 in shots on goal and finished with a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Lewis wraps up its season with a record of 9-7-2, 6-7-2 in the GLVC.
