ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team fell to No. 22 Indianapolis 87-77 Thursday evening at Neil Carey Arena in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest. Lewis falls to 10-9 overall, 5-6 in the GLVC, while Indianapolis moves to 15-4, 7-4 in the GLVC.

Indianapolis scored its first nine points of the game on three three-pointers as it jumped out to a 9-5 lead at the first media timeout. A
Jake Reinhart (Bloomington, Ill./Central Catholic) three tied the game at 13-13 and a pair of
Dre Bell (Detroit, Mich./River Rouge) free throws gave Lewis its first lead of the game, 15-13, at the 11:27 mark of the first half.

The two teams went back-and-forth until the Greyhounds went on a 10-0 spurt in less than two minutes to take a 30-23 lead at the 7:18 mark before
Brandon McCombs (Jacksonville, Ill./Jacksonville) free throws put an end to the run.

Indianapolis built its lead to as many as 10 points in the first half at 39-29 with 3:41 left before the Flyers responded with nine straight points, led by five points from Bell to make it 39-38 with 49 seconds left. However, the Greyhounds gained the momentum back heading into the break with five straight points to lead 44-38.

The Flyers got two within two points at 49-47 early in the second half and cut it to 56-53 at the 15:14 mark before the Greyhounds made their run. Eight straight points built the lead to 11 with 12:21 left. An
Artese Stapleton (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood) basket with 10:23 left made it 66-57, but Indianapolis went on a 9-2 run to lead 75-59 with 5:34 remaining.

A Bell three-pointer with 1:11 remaining got the score back to single digits at 81-72, but the Greyhounds went 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the final minute to secure the victory.

Bell paced the Flyers with 20 points, while Reinhart had 12 points (4-of-5 three-pointers) and
Anthony D'Avanzo (Harwood Heights, Ill./Notre Dame) (8 rebounds),
Adam Pischke (Cary, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) and McCombs scored 11 points each.

Lewis shot 24-of-53 (45.3 percent) for the game, while Indianapolis was 28-of-63 (44.4 percent). The Greyhounds outrebounded the Flyers 39-27.
