ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' women's basketball team hosts McKendree in its home finale for the 2019-20 season on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers begin a three-game road trip on Saturday as they travel to Evansville, Ind., to take on Southern Indiana at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out – Lewis bounced back from a tough loss last Thursday against Maryville with a 71-63 win over Missouri S&T on Saturday afternoon. The Flyers led the Miners 23-10 after the first quarter and were able to hold off a comeback attempt in the second half to secure the victory.
Katie Gardner (Franklin, Wis./Pius XI) led four players in double figures with 16 points.
Kaitlyn Williams (Homer Glen, Ill./Joliet Catholic) added 13 points off the bench while
Rachel Hinders (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) and
Stephanie Hart (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) finished with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Where They Stand – With two weeks and four games remaining on the 2019-20 regular season slate, Lewis is currently second in the GLVC Points Ratings System (PRS), which determines the eight participants as well as seeding for the GLVC Tournament. Showcase Game – Saturday's game is also the NCAA Division II Showcase game as the Flyers and Screaming Eagles will be featured on NCAA.com as well as the GLVC Sports Network and NCAA Division II's Twitter and Facebook accounts.
In the GLVC statistical rankings – Heading into this week's play, Lewis currently has four players ranked among the league's statistical leaders.
- Hinders ranks first in free throw shooting, third in field goal percentage and fourth in scoring.
- Hart ranks second in assist-to-turnover ratio, eighth in assists with 3.5 per game and eighth in 3-point FG percentage.
- Williams ranks ninth in the three-point field goals made and 14th in 3-point FG percentage.

Morgan Glatczak (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) ranks third in blocked shots with 2.57 per contest.
About McKendree – Senior guard Jordan Heberg averages 14.7 points per contest while sophomore guard Jenna Krause is averaging 10.0 points per outing for the Bearcats, who are 11-13 overall and 4-12 in GLVC play.
Series vs. McKendree – Thursday's contest marks the 12th meeting all-time between McKendree and Lewis with the Flyers holding a 10-1 advantage and have won 10 straight meetings.
About Southern Indiana – USI has won a season-high five straight games heading into Thursday's contest against Illinois Springfield with wins over Lindenwood (70-55) and Missouri-St. Louis (64-54) last weekend. Ashley Johnson leads three Screaming Eagles in scoring with an average of 13.6 points per contest while Emma DeHart and Hannah Haithcock are contributing 11.5 and 10.9 points per game respectively.
Series vs. Southern Indiana – The Flyers hold a 39-34 advantage in the series against USI and have won four of the last five contests including both meetings last season.
Up Next – Lewis wraps up its 2019-20 regular season heading to St. Louis to take on Missouri-St. Louis next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and then will take on Lindenwood on Saturday at 1 p.m.
