ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' women's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by Findlay on Saturday evening at the YMCA East in Findlay, Ohio. The Flyers drop to 1-4 while the Oilers improve to 2-2.
Findlay won two of the three doubles contests to take the first point of the match.
Aleksandra Sredojevic (Belgrade, Serbia/) and
Joie Reisch (LaGrande Highlands, Ill./Lyons Township) lost to Alvardo Laiying and Samantha Sweet 2-6 at No. 1 doubles. In No. 2 doubles,
Tereza Pilzova (Prague, Czech Republic/) and
Agnes Florcyzk () were beaten by Eliza Kirov and Laura Brito 5-7.
Jovana Vujanic () and
Sophie Davis (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) defeated Madison Arquette and Luciana Pereyra 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Pilzova lost to Laiying 6-3, 1-6, 1-6 at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Sredojevic fell to Sweet 3-6, 3-6. Vujanic suffered a three set loss to Pereyra (6-0, 4-6, 4-6) at No. 3 singles. In No. 4 singles play Reisch fell to Kirov 2-6, 7-5, 3-6. Davis fell to Arquette 5-7, 2-6 at No. 5 singles and at No. 6 singles Florcyzk lost to Brito in straight sets (1-6, 1-6).
Lewis returns to the court on Saturday (Feb. 15) as it travels down to Bolivar, Mo., to take on Southwest Baptist at 6 p.m.
