ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Lewis' baseball team scored in each of the first six innings in its 11-5 win at Maryville in a non-conference game on Thursday evening at Weber Field in St. Louis, Mo. The Flyers improve to 7-4 while the Saints drop to 6-11.
"It was definitely a surreal evening given all that's going on right now but I'm so glad we had the opportunity to play, especially for our seniors," Lewis head baseball coach
Tim McDonough said. "I'm so proud of how we came out and played too. It was a great game all the way around and I feel like we were really hitting our stride."
Lewis loaded the bases with one out in the first and scored a run on
Austin Tittle's (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) infield single to third. The Flyers had a chance to add onto their lead, but a double play ended the inning.
Lewis added three runs in the second inning. Anthony Cavlieri drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to center to bring home
Chris Zeschke (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards) and then later in the inning
Ryan Schefske (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East) delivered a two-run single to right.

Maryville got a solo home run from Elias Stevens and a two-run homer Austin Tapella to cut Lewis' lead to 10-3.
The Flyers added another run in the sixth as Everett scored on an error by the right fielder on Preusser's single to right.
The Saints scored twice in the sixth, but it wouldn't be enough as Lewis' bullpen held Maryville hitless for the final three innings.
The Flyers rapped out a season-high 17 hits in the contest and were led by Cavalieri, Schefske and Everett with three hits apiece. Schefske and Cavalieri combined to drive in six runs.
Brad Littleton (Coal City, Ill./) got the start in the contest and was one of eight Lewis pitchers to appear in the game. Littleton went the first two innings allowing no runs on no hits and struck out two to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Mike Stevens (Homer Glen, Ill./),
Ryan Ward (Hanover Park, Ill./Hoffman Estates),
AJ Casmer (Lisle, Ill./Lisle),
