16th Ranked Flyers Set For Midwest Region Crossover This Weekend

The nation’s largest collegiate volleyball tournament will be held in Hammond, Ind.

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The 13th annual Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament, the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament, will be held at the Hammond Sportsplex and Community Center in Hammond, Ind., this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 15-16). Lewis is the No. 1 seed from the GLVC and will play three matches over two days.

The Flyers (14-4, 9-1 GLVC), ranked 16th in this week's AVCA Division II Top 25 poll, open play on Friday at 11 a.m. No. 25 Michigan Tech (12-4, 7-1 GLIAC) and No. 17 Hillsdale (16-2, 9-0 G-MAC) at 6 p.m. Lewis will face Northwood (10-4, 4-3 GLIAC) on Saturday afternoon at 12:45 p.m. Michigan Tech is the No. 1 seed from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference, Hillsdale is the No. 1 seed from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference and Northwood is the No. 5 seed from the GLIAC.

The regional volleyball event will feature 15 Great Lakes Valley Conference teams, 11 institutions from the GLIAC and 12 from the G-MAC.

Lewis went 3-0 at the 2019 Midwest Region Crossover in Indianapolis. The Flyers are 24-12 all-time at the Crossover.

The two-day tournament will feature 57 matches throughout six sessions at one of the top volleyball facilities in the country. The event, designed to increase competition between teams from the three leagues in the Midwest Region, has been previously held in Indianapolis, Lansing, Mich., and Aurora, Ill.
