ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced on Monday (Sept. 13) that Lewis University senior midfielder
Domenic Baumann (Bergheim, Germany/Brauweiler) was selected the GLVC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 12.
Baumann scored a goal in both games last for the Flyers (3-0-1, 1-0 GLVC).
In the 2-0 win over Northern Michigan, Baumann scored on a breakaway goal after intercepting a pass near midfield to add an insurance goal against the Wildcats.
He opened the scoring for Lewis against Lindenwood (Sept. 12) heading home a free kick from
Matthew Beaulieu (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) in the 10th minute.
Baumann has scored four goals in his past three games and currently leads the team and the GLVC in scoring with eight points and four goals.
It's the first GLVC Player of the Week award in Baumann's career and he's the first Flyer to win Offensive Player of the Week honors since Nico Mueller (Oct. 23, 2017).
The Flyers continue their five-game homestand on Friday hosting McKendree at 7:30 p.m.
