QUINCY, Ill. -- The Lewis University men's basketball team suffered a setback on the road against Quincy as the Hawks made a layup with four seconds to go to capture a 71-69 victory at Pepsi Arena Monday.

SUMMARY
Both teams traded points early on which made it 11-all in the first nine minutes of the contest. Lewis would grab a six-point lead after a basket by Hill and a three-pointer by Sayles.
The Hawks responded and tied the contest at 17-all after making a three and converting on a three-point play. Moments later, the Hawks took a 24-21 lead before Frericks knocked down two straight triples to give Lewis a 27-24 lead with four minutes to play in the half.
Towards the end of the half the Flyers caught fire after it was tied 30-30. Lewis ended the half after back-to-back threes by Sayles and Frericks gave Lewis a 42-30 lead at the break.
Lewis jumped out to a 14-point lead to start the second half after a basket by Hill made it 48-34. Quincy went on a 13-2 run to cut it down to two (50-48) with 11:47 to go in the game.
Colin Kenney (Michigan City, Ind./Furman) knocked down a pair of threes to give the Flyers a 56-49 lead with under 11 minutes to play. Lewis led 60-51 with under nine minutes to go after a layup by Hill.
Quincy went on to score 10 straight points the next three minutes to grab a 61-60 lead with 5:23 in the game. Both teams would go back and forth the rest of the contest keeping it a one possession game.
The Hawks led 69-65 with two and a half minutes to play and Hill made two straight baskets to tie the contest at 69-all. Quincy hit the game winning shot with four seconds left to give the Hawks the 71-69 victory.
