ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The No. 2 seed Lewis University men's soccer team suffered a two-overtime loss against top seed Maryville, 1-0, in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Championship Sunday (Nov. 6).

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: No. 2 Lewis 0, No. 1 Maryville 0
- Godwin Asore (Kumasi, Ghana/Putnam Science Academy) tried to score early for the Flyers in the fifth minute but his shot was saved.
- Maryville looked to get on the scoreboard in the 11th minute but Doppelhofer saved it.
- Charles Carlback (Karlskrona, Sweden/FK Karlskrona) went on the attack in the 17th minute looking for a chance to score but his shot was saved.
- The Saints had another scoring opportunity in the 32nd minute but their shot was scooped up by Doppelhofer.
- Shkidchenko drove the field looking to end the scoreless tie in the 39th minute however Maryville's goalie saved it.
Second Half: No. 2 Lewis 0, No. 1 Maryville 0
- Matthew Beaulieu (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) started the second half aggressive, going on the attack in the 48th minute but it was blocked by the goalkeeper.
- Both teams had shot attempts but were off target.
- Shkidchenko tried to have success this time around in the 74th minute but it was also saved.
OVERTIME 1: No. 2 Lewis 0, No. 1 Maryville 0
- The Saints had the first scoring opportunity in the first overtime in the 93rd minute but Doppelhofer saved it.
- Lewis was not able to get a shot attempt in the first overtime period.
OVERTIME 2: No. 1 Maryville 1, No. 2 Lewis 0
- Beaulieu went on the attack early in start the second overtime in the 101st minute but the shot attempt was saved.
- A couple minutes later, Shkidchenko had a scoring opportunity but his shot was picked up by the Maryville goalkeeper.
- Maryville was able to break through in the 107th minute after Jimmy Doherty found the back of the net.
- Lewis was unable to get another shot attempt off the rest of the match as Maryville came out on top 1-0.
