KENOSHA, Wis. – The Lewis University's women's basketball team picked up a non-conference victory on the road against Parkside, 69-65, at De Simone Arena Tuesday.

SUMMARY
Parkside jumped out to an early 7-3 before Gugliuzza knocked down a three-pointer. The Rangers responded with a three of their own before the Flyers grabbed the lead after Hilber knocked one down from behind the arc and made a jumper to make it 11-10.
Parkside bounced back with five straight of their own to grab a 15-11 advantage. Gugliuzza converted a three-point play to make it within one (15-14) with 1:49 to go in the opening period. The Rangers had the ensuing basket then this time it was Kathryn Schmidt (Hampshire, Ill./Burlington Central) who converted on the three-point play with 27 seconds left to go in the first.
Lewis jumped out to an early 25-23 lead after Brown made a basket and another three by Hilber. Jenna Badali (Oak Lawn, Ill./Mother McAuley) got in the scorebook after and Schmidt recorded buckets which extended the Flyers lead out to 39-32 and that lead would hold until halftime.
Both teams traded layups to start the second half before Parkside knocked down a pair of threes to cut it down to one (41-40) with seven minutes to play. Moments later, Lewis knocked down a pair of free throws before the Rangers tied it at 43-all with another three.
The Flyers would respond and grab a 51-46 lead after a jumper by Hilber. Parkside closed out the third quarter with a three-pointer which made it 53-51 Lewis at the end of three.
Hilber extended the Flyers lead out to 57-53 after making a basket before Parkside grabbed a 58-57 lead after making a basket and a three. Lewis regained the lead after a trey from Hilber and a jumper by Gugliuzza which made it 62-58 with fives minutes to go.
Lewis led 66-65 with 45 seconds left after the Rangers knocked down a pair at the free-throw line. Hilber knocked down the dagger with 15 seconds left which gave the Flyers a 69-65 lead and that score would hold with Lewis coming out on top.

Lewis will be back in action and return to Great Lakes Valley Conference play Saturday, December 10 as the Flyers travel to St. Louis, Mo. to take on the University of Missouri at St. Louis starting at 1 p.m. CT.
