INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lewis University men's tennis team fell to No. 8 Indianapolis 7-0 Saturday (April 2) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match. The Flyers drop to 9-6 overall, while the Greyhounds advance to 11-3.
Indianapolis earned the doubles point with wins at the No.1 and No. 2 spots as Tom Zeuch and Zac Faveri defeated the Lewis duo of
Juan Martin Ramirez Mejia (Medellin, Colombia/) and
David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia/) 7-6 at No. 1, while
Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) and
Pedja Trifunovic (Aleksandrovac, Serbia/) fell at No. 2 to Yoann Viel and Edgar Destouet 6-1.
In singles Ramirez Mejia lost 6-2, 7-6 at No. 1 to Destouet, Lusti fell 6-1, 6-2 to Zeuch at No. 2, Ambrozic lost 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 to Viel, Trifunovic was defeated by Faveri 4-6, 6-7, 8-10 at No, 4,
Oliwer Wierzbicki (Szczecin, Poland) lost to Jason Gerweck 6-2, 3-6, 6-10 at No. 5 and
Andrej Zoranovic (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) lost to Pedro Franca 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Flyers are back home Monday to take home Roosevelt at 2:30 p.m.
