ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Lewis University men's soccer team defeated Missouri St. Louis 1-0 Sunday (Oct. 1) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest. It was the fifth straight win and seventh straight shutout for the Flyers.

Lewis came out attacking in the first 15 minutes with five shots and one on target, but none found the back of the net. The Flyers put up five more shots with two being on target in the first half but none connected.
Lewis held Missouri-St. Louis without a shot in the first half.
Second Half: Lewis 1, Missouri-St. Louis 0
UMSL recorded its first shot of the contest in the 53rd minute but it was off target. The Flyers broke through in the 54th minute as Asore found Bogers as he found the back of the net for the lone goal of the contest.
The Tritons looked to tie it after going on the attack in the 81st minute but their lone shot on goal attempt was saved by Doppelhofer.
Jesus Meza (Glendale Heights, Ill./North Central College) looked to double the lead for Lewis in 82nd minute but his shot was saved.
