ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University women's soccer team defeated Missouri S&T 1-0 Sunday (October 15) at Lewis Stadium.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Lewis 1, Missouri S&T 0
Lewis recorded the first five shots of the contest with two on target that were saved by the goalie and three that were off. Pinto recorded the pair of shots that were on target. 

Culver also recorded a pair of shots in a row in the 19th and 21st minute but were off target. Isabella Vargas (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) also recorded a shot but it went high to keep it scoreless. 

Missouri S&T picked up two shots in the 26th and 29th minutes but one was off target and one was saved by Nielsen. Culver recorded a shot off target and Pinto on target but it was saved. 

Grace DeVaux (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) gave Lewis the lone goal of the match as Elisa Aguilar (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) found her for the goal. 

SECOND HALF: Lewis 0, Missouri S&T 0
Culver looked to double the Flyers lead to start the second half in the 54th and 58th minutes but both shots were out left. The Miners recorded the next three shots but the next two were saved by Nielsen. 

Lewis recorded three more shots the rest of the contest but all were off target. The Flyers were able to keep the Miners off the shot column the rest of the match as Lewis won 1-0.

FINAL SCORE: Lewis 1, Missouri S&T 0
