EAST PEORIA, Ill. - The Lewis University women's soccer team ended its run in the GLVC Tournament with a 1-0 loss to McKendree in the GLVC Championship Match.
Grace DeVaux (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North),
Bekah Nielsen (Normal, Ill./Heartland Community College), and
Anna Stearns (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) were named to the GLVC All-Tournament Team.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: McKendree 1, Lewis 0
McKendree attacked early, recording the first shot on goal in the match in the fourth minute, but Nielsen made the stop. The Bearcats kept coming with shots on net in the 21st, 27th and 30th minutes, with Nielsen racking up three more saves to keep the match scoreless.

McKendree got on the board with a goal at the 42:48 mark, as the shot went just inside the top-left corner of the net. Lewis was unable to record a shot in the opening half.

SECOND HALF: McKendree 0, Lewis 0
Culver recorded the first shot for the Flyers in the 49th minute, sending the ball on target, but it was saved by the Bearcats goalkeeper. Nielsen had another big save in the 57th minute to keep it a one-goal deficit.

Nielsen kept Lewis close with two more saves, in the 65th and 84th minutes before the Flyers went back on the attack in the final five minutes. DeVaux got a shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the save was made.
Morgan Krupp (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay High School) took a shot in the 89th minute, but it went wide.
