Neither side could break away early, with the score tied at four before Lewis broke off a 7-2 run with three kills and two blocks. The Flyers kept pushing, with back-to-back kills by Ray increasing the lead to 19-10.

After Maryville scored two in a row, Lewis used a 5-0 burst to reach set point, and Schlechte finished the set win with a kill. The Flyers held the Saints to a .069 attack percentage in the opening frame.

Set 2: Lewis 25, Maryville 17
Maryville took the first two points of the second set, and held off Lewis early to hold a 6-4 lead. The Flyers were undeterred, using a 3-0 run to grab the lead, and later a 5-0 charge with four kills and a service ace by Stenman gave Lewis a 13-8 advantage.

The Saints took the next two points, but the Flyers pulled away again with a 7-2 push with five kills that brought the lead to 22-14. Lewis finished off the set with a block by O'Neill and Van Loo, hitting .419 in the set.

Set 3: Lewis 25, Maryville 16
Maryville earned two of the first three points in set three, but the Flyers offense was too much to handle, ripping off an 8-1 run with six kills to take a commanding lead. The Saints fought back with its only 3-0 run of the match to bring the deficit back down to three, at 10-7.

Both teams went blow-for-blow for a bit, with Maryville getting to within two points at 13-11, before a 4-0 Lewis run restored some cushion to the lead. The Saints wouldn't back down, getting back to within four points at 20-16.

Then, the Flyers put the match away by securing the final five points, as Stenman earned an ace to finish the victory. Lewis hit an outstanding .467 in the closing frame.
