ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University men's basketball team against lost a hard-fought contest at the buzzer against No. 7 Ferris State, 89-87, at Neil Carey Arena Monday (Nov. 27).

SUMMARY
Lewis went ahead 7-3 early after a three-pointer by Frericks. Ferris looked to respond before the Flyers knocked down back-to-back baskets by Frericks and Hill which made it 14-8.
Moments later, Renfro extended the Lewis lead out to 23-15 after knocking down a jumper with 9:21 to play in the first half. The Bulldogs looked to crawl its way back into the contest but a jumper by Renfro and a three-pointer by Stroud kept it a nine-point game (28-19) with under eight minutes to play in the half.
The Flyers built on its lead and made it double digits a few times, then both teams traded three-pointers to end the half as Lewis led 47-40 at the break.
Ferris State started the second half with back-to-back buckets to cut it down to three (47-44). Solomon looked to bring momentum back on Lewis' side after converting on a three-point play to make it a six-point contest.
The Bulldogs went on a 8-0 run the next two minutes to give Ferris State a 52-50 lead. Both teams traded baskets the next five points before FSU went up 61-60 with 13:14 to play.
Lewis got back-to-back trifectas from Frericks and Kirciman to take a 66-61 lead with 11:42 remaining. The Flyers held onto a lead for most of the second half before Ferris State would respond and knocked down a three-pointer for an 82-81 lead with under five minutes to play.
FSU knocked down a clutch three-pointer to make it 87-85 with under one minute left in the contest. Renfro was able to tie the game with a layup on the next Lewis possession.
The Bulldogs won it at the buzzer as Jack Ammerman knocked it down from inside the arc to give Ferris State the 89-87 victory.
