INDIANAPOLIS -- The Lewis University men's soccer team defeated Indianapolis 2-1 in the NCAA DII Third Round at Key Stadium Friday (Dec. 1). With the win, the Flyers advance to the NCAA DII Fourth Round/Elite Eight Sunday.

HALF BREAKDOWN
FIRST HALF: Lewis 1, Â Indianapolis 0
Indianapolis recorded the first two shots of the contest in the first 14 minutes, but both were off target. Lewis broke through on the scoreboard in the 18' after Darlage kicked in his corner kick to Gorodnickis for the score.
The Greyhounds looked for the answer the next eight minutes after recording a pair of shots, but both were off target. Indianapolis looked to convert on additional scoring chances in the 34th, 35th and 39th minute but one missed left and Doppelhofer saved the other two.
SECOND HALF: Lewis 1, Indianapolis 1
Gorodnickis looked to double the lead early in the second half but his shot went off target. Holzer went on the attack in the 49' looking to make it 2-0 but his shot was saved.Â
Indianapolis got the ball and went firing in the 53' and 54' but Doppelhofer recorded a pair of saves. The Greyhounds recorded another shot attempt in the 57' but its shot went wide.Â
UIndy was able to break through and knot up the score at 1-1 in the 60' after finding the back of the net and looked to take the lead with its next shot attempt but it was saved by Doppelhofer. Perez came in the game and looked to give the Flyers a 2-1 lead but his shot went left in the 76'.
Lewis was able to make it 2-1 after Bogers passed to Gorodnickis then on to Perez for the goal.
The Greyhounds looked to knot the contest up in the 87' but Doppelhofer made the save. UIndy tried again in the closing minute of the match but its shot went out right.Â
