ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Lewis University women's basketball saw their season come to an end Friday (March 10) as the Flyers fell in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regionals to second-seeded Drury 71-60 at Ashland University. The Flyers finished the season with a 21-11 record.

SUMMARY
Drury scored the first two baskets of the contest before
Stephanie Hart (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) was able to respond with a bucket of her own which made it 4-2. The Panthers got the next basket then Lewis would grab a 7-6 lead after a three-pointer by Hilber and a layup by Schmidt.
The Panthers responded with a 10-2 run to grab a 16-9 lead.
Lily Courier (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) and Schmidt got the Flyers back on track with back-to-back layups to make it 16-13.
Both teams traded three-pointers to end the opening quarter as the Panthers led 19-16 after one.
Drury started the second quarter with five straight points to extend their lead out to 24-16. Moments later, the Panthers made it 29-21 before Hilber scored four straight to make it 29-25 with 2:39 to play in the first half.
The Panthers closed out the final 2:39 with eight straight points to go into the break with a 37-25 lead.
Lewis started the second half on a 9-4 run to cut it down to 41-34 after a three-pointer by
Shawnton Brown (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Central) with 5:40 left in the third quarter. Moments later, Badali made it a five-point game after her jumper with 2:32 to play in the third.
The Panthers ended the third quarter with a 7-2 run which gave Drury a 51-41 lead.
Lewis got right back in the game after six straight points to open the fourth quarter cut it down to 51-47. Drury went on another run as well as the Panthers scored 10 unanswered for a 61-47 lead with 3:24 to play which ultimately sealed the game.
