ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team defeated Wisconsin-Parkside 10-2 Wednesday (March 29) in a nonconference contest at Brennan Field. The Flyers used four second inning runs to propel them to victory.

SUMMARY
The Rangers opened the scoring in the top of the second with an unearned run, but the Flyers came back with four in the bottom of the second.
Three of those runs came on the bat of
Patrick Keaty (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin), who belted a three-run home run to right field.
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) followed at the next at-bat with a home run of his own to make it 4-1.
Parkside tallied a home run in the top of the third inning to make it 4-2, but Lewis again would respond in the bottom of the third as
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic)Â doubled to right field, scoring
Tony Fleischauer (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) to make it 5-2.
In the bottom of the fifth Fleischauer would touch home plate for the third time in the game, this time driving himself home with a home run. Bilecki would later add a RBI single to make it 7-2.
David Ascencio (Joliet, Ill./Plainfield Central) added to the lead in the sixth with a RBI groundout to make it 8-2. Headrick finished off the scoring later in the inning with a two-RBI double.
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and Headrick (3 RBI) each had three hits for the Flyers, while Fleischauer (4 runs), Keaty (3 RBI) and Bilecki (2 RBI) all had two hits.
Collin Amsden (Oak Forest, Ill./Marist) (2-0) eaned the win, pitching two scoreless innings, allowing two hits. Kaleb Schulist (1-2) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on four hits in 1.2 innings.
