ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team defeated Rockhurst 23-6 and 16-0 Friday (April 14) at Brennan Field. The wins extend the Flyer win streak to seven straight games.

SUMMARY
GAME 1: Lewis 23, Rockhurst 6
Rockhurst tallied two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Flyers came back with nine runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Thomas Fox (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Christian) led things off for Lewis with a home run to right field. Two batters later
Angelo Cantelo (Blue Island, Ill./Marian Catholic) hit a two-run home run to give the Flyers the lead.
Patrick Keaty (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) singled to right, scoring two more runs.
Fox then hit his second home run of the inning, this time a three-run blast, to give Lewis an 8-2 lead. Cantelo finished the scoring for the inning with a RBI double to make it 9-2.
The Hawks came back with a run in the second, but Lewis answered with two in the bottom of the frame on a
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) double and a
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) sacrifice fly.
Both teams scored a run in the third as
David Ascencio (Joliet, Ill./Plainfield Central) singled home a run. After Rockhurst scored a run in the fourth, Lewis came back with nine more runs in the bottom of the inning.
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly),
Brian Twomey (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) and
Kevin Barry (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) all singled home runs. Two runs then scored via error. Headrick had a RBI single, Keaty had a sacrifice fly, Fox singled home a run and Alt drove in his second run of the inning with another single.
Lewis added runs in the fifth and sixth as Bilecki tripled home a run and Cantelo homered to left field.
Cantelo went 4-for-4 with 4 RBI, while Fox (5 RBI) and Alt had three hits each.
Shane Gorman (Orland Park, Ill./Br. Rice) (2-4) picked up the win on the mound.
Game 2: Lewis 16, Rockhurst 0
Barry started the scoring in the bottom of the first with a RBI single.
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) had a RBI on a fielder's choice to make it 2-0.
Krol added to the lead in the third with a RBI single to make it 3-0.
Tony Fleischauer (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) doubled home Krol to make it 4-0. An error made it 5-0 and then a Keaty single made it 6-0. Alt finished the scoring for the inning with a double to make it 7-0.
In the fourth inning a Keaty double with the bases loaded drove home three runs and then a Fox single drove home Keaty to make it 11-0.
Two throwing errors led to runs in the fifth inning, while Fleischauer,
Jack Blazevich (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) and
Ryne Meriel (Niles, Ill./Carmel Catholic) had RBI singles for the final runs of the game.
Fleischauer's three hits led the offense, while Keaty drove home four runs.
Jake Karaba (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) (4-1) went five innings on the mound, allowing one hit and two walks, striking out eight.
