Fox then hit his second home run of the inning, this time a three-run blast, to give Lewis an 8-2 lead. Cantelo finished the scoring for the inning with a RBI double to make it 9-2.

The Hawks came back with a run in the second, but Lewis answered with two in the bottom of the frame on a Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) double and a George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) sacrifice fly.

Both teams scored a run in the third as David Ascencio (Joliet, Ill./Plainfield Central) singled home a run. After Rockhurst scored a run in the fourth, Lewis came back with nine more runs in the bottom of the inning.

Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly), Brian Twomey (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) and Kevin Barry (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) all singled home runs. Two runs then scored via error. Headrick had a RBI single, Keaty had a sacrifice fly, Fox singled home a run and Alt drove in his second run of the inning with another single.

Lewis added runs in the fifth and sixth as Bilecki tripled home a run and Cantelo homered to left field.
