ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University women's lacrosse team suffered a pair of setbacks in Great Lakes Valley Conference contests after losing to Missouri Western State and Quincy at Lewis Stadium.

QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER: Missouri Western State 3, Lewis 0
- Missouri Western State struck first as they scored a goal less than two minutes into the opening quarter.
- Five minutes into the quarter, Lewis' Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best) attempted to answer back but the shot was saved by the Griffons.
- Missouri Western State added two more goals over the next five minutes of play to take a 3-0 lead.
- In the final three minutes, the Flyers had more three shots in attempt to get on the scoreboard but to no avail.
SECOND QUARTER: Missouri Western State 4, Lewis 3
- In the second quarter, the Griffons were able to tack on two more goals before Meltonique Brown scored the first Lewis goal of the afternoon with 11:10 remaining.
- Brown scored her second goal of the quarter with 8:57 remaining, but that came nearly one minute after Daniella Winterlik (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Terry Fox) scored a goal.
- With the Flyers scoring three goals in a span of three minutes, Lewis was looking to close the quarter out trailing by two.
- Unfortunately for Lewis, they gave up two goals to the Griffons in the final 20 seconds of the quarter, extending the Missouri Western State lead back to four.
THIRD QUARTER: Missouri Western State 4, Lewis 3
- Missouri Western State went ahead 9-3 after scoring the first two goals of the third quarter.
- Lewis responded with a goal of its own after Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein) scored her first goal of the match, assisted by Brown, with 8:03 remaining in the third.
- The Griffons were able to add two more goals to extend its lead to seven, but the Flyers wouldn't back down as they scored two goals in the final minute.
- Lucich scored her second goal of the match and Brown followed up with her third goal of the afternoon with 45 seconds remaining.
FOURTH QUARTER: Missouri Western State 7, Lewis 1
- The Griffons outscored Lewis 7-1 in the fourth quarter.
- Winterlik of Lewis was able to notch her second goal of the contest and the Flyers seventh goal as a team.
- Missouri Western State scored the final three goals in the final six minutes of action to win the match by double-digits.

- Quincy scored all four goals in the first quarter and held Lewis off the scoreboard.
SECOND QUARTER: Quincy 3, Lewis 2
- The Hawks opened up the second quarter with a goal to make it 5-0.
- Serritella recorded the first goal for the Flyers of the game with 10:45 to go in the first half.
- Quincy went on to score its sixth and seventh goal of the contest.
- Winterlik scored her first goal of the game with 8:47 left in the second.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 7, Quincy 3
- The Hawks picked up the opening goal in the second half before Lewis scored six unanswered to tie it.
- Serritella had her second goal of the game 32 seconds later.
- Bowen scored her first goal of the contest less than a minute later to cut it to 8-4.
- Lucich recorded back-to-back goals in a one minute span to make 8-6 Quincy.
- Bowen picked up the next two goals which tied the game up at 8-8.
- QU responded with a goal with 3:03 left to regain the lead at 9-8.
- The Hawks went up by two with another goal which gave Quincy a 10-8 lead.
- Lewis scored its final goal of the game as Paige Bracey (Apex, NC/Apex) found the back of the net.
FOURTH QUARTER: Quincy 5, Lewis 0
- Quincy recorded five straight goals in the fourth quarter while holding Lewis off the board.
