GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Lewis University men's lacrosse team responded with a 17-9 victory on the road in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest against Davenport Tuesday (April 25).

QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 4, Davenport 2
- Davenport scored the first two goals of the contest in the first five minutes.
- Lewis went on and scored four unanswered.
- Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, MN/Totino-Grace HS) found Ruskoski less than a minute later to get the Flyers on the board.
- McLean tied the contest up with 6:35 left in the first quarter.
- Less than a minute later, Lewis took a 3-2 lead after Mattio found the back of the net.
- Ruskoski scored his second goal of the contest to extend the Lewis lead to 4-2.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 6, Davenport 4
- The Flyers scored in the opening minute of the second quarter after Zach Buddelmeyer (Springboro, OH/Springboro HS) found the back of the net.
- Davenport recorded the next two goals to cut it down to one (5-4) with 9:51 left in the first half.
- Clement scored his first goal 35 seconds later to extend its lead to 6-4.
- Drew Andre (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada/) found Jack Speers (Glenview, IL/) to give Lewis a 7-4 lead.
- The Panthers responded with a goal of its own to make it 7-5.
- Andre picked up his third assist of the contest as he found Schroeder to extend the Flyers lead to 8-5.
- Davenport got a goal back before Lewis scored the next two from Dominic Bravata (Portage, MI/Portage Northern HS) and McLean to make it 10-6 at half.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 3, Davenport 1
- The Panthers got the first goal of the third quarter before Lewis got three unanswered.
- Clement scored his second goal of the game to give the Flyers a 11-7 lead.
- Mattio picked up his second goal of contest to extend it out to 12-7.
- Clement recorded a hat trick with his third goal of the game with 13 seconds left to make it 13-7.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 4, Davenport 2
- Clement found Andre 37 seconds into the fourth quarter to extend the Lewis lead to 14-7.
- Davenport score a goal with 10:28 left in the game.
- Lewis went on and scored three straight goals in a 2:01 span.
- Buddelmeyer scored the next goal which made it 15-8.
- McLean picked up his third goal of the contest to extend the lead out to 16-8.
- Ruskoski also had his third goal from Clement which made it 17-8.
- The Panthers scored its final goal of game with 2:41 left in the game.
FINAL SCORE: Lewis 17, Davenport 9
