ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team suffered a setback in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest against No. 19 Maryville 22-8 Thursday (April 6) at Lewis Stadium.

QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER: Maryville 7, Lewis 3
- Cronin struck first for Lewis in the opening minute of the match.
- Maryville went on to respond with two unanswered to take a 2-1 lead.
- Skylar Lucich (Mundelein, IL/Mundelein) knotted it up at 2-2 after finding the back of the net at the 10:19 mark.
- The Saints scored five straight over the next seven minutes to go up 7-2.
- Sydney Able (Aurora, CO/Regis Jesuit) was able to get one back for Lewis with 2:55 left in the first.
SECOND QUARTER: Maryville 7, Lewis 1
- Maryville started the second quarter with the first four goals, giving the Saints a 11-3 lead.
- Carlie Serritella (Chicago, IL/Resurrection) recorded a goal with 6:34 left in the first half which cut it down to 11-4.
- The Saints scored the last three goals of the first half which gave them a 14-4 lead.
THIRD QUARTER: Maryville 4, Lewis 2
- Maryville went ahead 17-4 after scoring the first three goals of the third quarter.
- Lewis responded with a goal of its own after Cronin scored her second goal of the match with 5:44 to play in the third.
- The Saints got the goal right back to make it 18-5.
- Cronin recorded a hat trick after scoring the next goal to make it 18-6.
FOURTH QUARTER: Maryville 4, Lewis 2
- Meltonique Bowen (Pembroke Pines, FL/Flanagan) started the fourth quarter with two straight goals for Lewis to cut it down to 18-8.
- The Saints scored the final four goals of the match to give them a 22-8 advantage.
FINAL SCORE: Maryville 22, Lewis 8
