INDIANAPOLIS -- The Lewis University softball team saw its season come to an end as the Flyers rallied late in the seventh but Indianapolis came out on top to defeat the Flyers 2-1 to capture the NCAA Midwest Regional Title.

SUMMARY
Indianapolis scored its two lone runs in the bottom of the third inning after back-to-back singles which made it 2-0.
Lewis looked to rally in the top of the seventh inning after
Jalyn Powell (Tolono, IL/Unity) and
Sara Serena (Kankakee, IL/Kankakee) singled to start the frame.
The Flyers then loaded the bases after
Meghan Bontrager (Milford, IN/Northridge) singled to center.
Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School) drew a bases-loaded walk which scored Powell.
The Greyhounds starting pitcher Kenzee Smith was able to escape damage and got the third out with the bases loaded.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) pitched 3.1 scoreless innings in relief, allowing only one hit, issuing two walks and striking out six.
Lewis finishes the season with a 38-20 record.
