ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University women's soccer team recorded a 1-0 victory against Missouri S&T on Friday (Oct. 11). Elisa Aguilar (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) recorded the penalty kick goal in the 67th minute which was the difference in the match.

The women's soccer team started the game with a shot by Hadzic but it was saved by Missouri S&T's goalkeeper. The offense continued with multiple shots by Cosa Bella Milazzo (Orland Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew), Abbie Delong (O'Fallon, Mo./Incarnate Word Academy), Jada Harvey (Roscoe, Ill./Rockford Christian), Culver and Aguilar. Despite these shots, Lewis was unable to score a goal.
The Miners attempted their own shot but Graziosi was there to save it. Lewis had more shots by Culver and Isabella Vargas (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) but none found the back of the net as the period ended tied 0-0.
Second Half: Lewis 1, Missouri S&T 0
In the second half, another shot was recorded by Culver but it was saved by the goalkeeper. Aguilar managed to get Lewis on the scoreboard after recording a goal on a penalty kick which gave Lewis the 1-0 advantage.
The Flyers continued to give Missouri S&T hardly any openings and the Miners only managed one shot for the rest of the game.
