CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Lewis University women's cross country team finished first at the Seminole Valley Stampede Saturday (Oct. 5). The Flyers finished with 66 points.

Leading the way for Lewis was grad student Lilia Alvarez (Omaha, Neb./Omaha South Magnet), who finished the 6K race with a time of 22:43.7. Senior Chloe Wannamaker (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) was the next Flyer to cross the finish line after recording a time of 22:52.7.

Freshman Janellisa Oceguera (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) finished next behind Wannamaker as she finished with a time of 23:19.9. Sophomore Katie Melzer (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) crossed the finish line next for Lewis after recording a time of 23:22.1.

Freshman Julie Macias (Midlothian, Ill./Bremen) was right behind Melzer after finishing the race with a time of 23:22.5. Freshman Kristina Findley (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) was next to finish for the Flyers after finishing with a time of 23:26.3. Following Findley was fellow freshman Madison Findley (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) who recorded a time of 23:35.6.
