GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Lewis University women's basketball won another game against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Davenport on Wednesday night (Dec. 18), marking their eighth win in a row and ninth overall.

GAME SUMMARY
In their final game of 2024, the Flyers outscored the Panthers in every quarter of contest. It began with a Davenport jump shot for their first lead of the night, which was met with a jumper from Gabrielle Hoover a minute later. Hoover would hit a three on the Flyers' next trip down the court.
The first quarter lead was exchanged between the two non-conference opponents a few times. After layups by Badali and Cesarini combined with a good mid-range jumper by
Cierra McNamee (Moline, Ill./Illinois Central College) gave Lewis a 13-12 lead at the end of the first stanza.
Hoover hit another shot from the paint at the start second which was met with a Davenport three to tie the game at 15. A layup from McNamee was followed by a Panther three which saw the Davenport squad take the lead again. Lewis did not trail for long as on the next offensive possession for the Flyers,
Yahaira Bueno (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) with a shot from the mid range took back the lead.
At 19-18 the Flyers went on a good size run to close out the half. After her jumper Bueno added on five more with a three and a fast break layup. Cesarini and Badli closed out the half with a layup and a three to give Lewis a 29-26 lead.
Coming back from the break, the third quarter was completely owned by the Flyers, outscoring Davenport 18-5. McNamee began the scoring with a layup followed by a three from Bueno. Cesarini hit a layup off the rebound from
Taylor Gugliuzza (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) who would soon after go two for two on a trip to the free throw line.
The Flyers would score eight points in the final 90 seconds with a free throw by Badali and a layup by Gugliuzza. After Davenport would put a layup of their own, Hoover would go the other way to hit a three. Badali would finish the third with a jumper in the paint to hand the Flyers a 16 point lead at the end of the third quarter.
The fourth was a battle for the full ten minutes, neither squad going into the final buzzer with anything left in the tank. Cesarini on her big night would put up the Flyers first five points in the fourth quarter from a layup and a three in the first two minutes, she would go onto hit two free throws in the middle of the quarter to conclude her scoring.
Gugliuzza would make a three off the fast break which she flushed home for three more. She would add on three more later the old fashioned way with the and one play off of a good layup and free throw.
Ana Haklicka (Dubrovnik, Croatia/Chicago State) would score the final points for the Flyers with a mid range shot and the final buzzer would eventually sound as Lewis took another win with a 64-47 match against Davenport.
