ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Lewis University men's basketball team fell in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship game against William Jewell Sunday (March 10) as the Cardinals won 83-65.

SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out to an early 9-3 lead after a layup from Frericks in the first 4:19 of the contest. William Jewell responded with nine straight points for a 12-9 advantage.
Frericks got the Flyers back on track after a three-pointer and tied it at 12-12 with 11:50 left. Both teams went back-and-forth before Lewis connected on two threes in a row and a layup from Frericks which made it 30-23 Lewis with 4:06 left in first half.
William Jewell responded with a 12-2 run the next three minutes to grab a 35-32 lead. Kirciman responded with a bucket to cut it down to one then the Cardinals got it back to end the half up 37-34.
Both teams would trade baskets to start the second half before Frericks tied it with a layup. William Jewell responded with back-to-back threes to extend its lead back out to 53-47 with 13:21 remaining in the game.
Moments later, Stroud was able to make it a one-score contest at 58-56 WJC with 9:13 left in the contest and that was the closest Lewis got. The Cardinals went on to score six points in a row to extend the lead out to eight at the 7:23 mark.
After a layup from Frericks, William Jewell went on a 17-4 run the next five minutes to grab an 81-62 lead with 1:32 remaining. Warden got the last basket of the game for Lewis then the Cardinals got it back and that ended it with WJC winning 83-65.
Kirciman was awarded to the All-GLVC Tournament Team after averaging 16.3 points per game and shoot 64.5 percent.
