SUMMARY
Lewis got on the board first in the top of the second inning as an error and fielder's choice loaded up the bases with two outs for Thomas Fox (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Christian). Fox delivered a bases-clearing double to give Lewis a 3-0 lead. The Tritons made two more errors in the top half of the third inning, but a double play ended the Flyer threat.

The Tritons used a pair of hits to get runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the third, but Lewis pitcher Michael Sclafani (Oak Brook, Ill./Montini Catholic) got out of the jam, forcing a pop out and struck out the final batter of the inning.

UMSL scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning on a leadoff home run. The Tritons added a second run later in the inning that was set up by an error, cutting the deficit to 3-2.

The Flyers got the two runs right back as Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) singled to open the sixth inning and George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) followed with a home run to right field to make it 5-2. Lewis only allowed one runner on base over the final four innings to clinch the victory.

Alt led the offensive with three hits and scored two runs. Sclafani (8-4) picked up the win, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits in six innings, striking out four. Jackson Bruno (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame Prep) earned his third save of the year, going the final three innings, allowing one hit.
