TAMPA – The Lewis University men's lacrosse team season came to an end as the Flyers fell to Tampa 20-3 at Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex in the NCAA II Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals Sunday (May 12).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Tampa 5, Lewis 1
Tampa started the scoring with a pair of goals early. Lewis got on the board with a goal from Good off the pass from Blaz.
The Spartans closed out the period with three unanswered goals to extend their lead to 5-1. Rathe picked up five saves in the opening quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: Tampa 5, Lewis 1
Tampa started the second quarter with a pair of goals to extend its lead to 7-1. Blaz was able to find the back of the net off the pass from Metheny to make it 7-2 Tampa.
Tampa added three more goals before halftime to make it 10-2 at the break.
THIRD QUARTER: Tampa 8, Lewis 0
The Spartans scored every goal in the third period which gave Tampa a 18-2 lead. Rathe recorded four saves in the third period.
FOURTH QUARTER: Tampa 2, Lewis 1
Schermerhorn recorded the goal in the fourth quarter for Lewis after the Spartans had scored first in the final frame.
Tampa responded with a goal of its own with five minutes left in the contest.
FINAL SCORE: Tampa 20, Lewis 3
With the loss, The Lewis men's lacrosse season is over. The Flyers went 14-5 this season. It was a historical season for Lewis Men's Lacrosse.
