EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The second seeded Lewis University softball team fell in its opening round match-up of the GLVC Tournament against seventh seed Missouri S&T 6-1 at Eastside Centre Thursday (May 2).

Anna Frafjord (Sussex, WI/Hamilton High School) started the scoring in the first after recording a bunt single which scored
Delaney Garden (Carpentersville, IL/Harry D. Jacobs High School) to make it 1-0.
Missouri S&T responded and tied the contest in the fifth inning to make it 1-1. The Miners took the lead in the sixth with a solo home run to make it 2-1.
Missouri S&T blew the game open in the sixth with a four-run frame to extend its lead to 6-1.
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School) (14-3) recorded a no-decision after going five innings, allowing four hits, one run, walking one and striking out four.
Garden (17-7) suffered the loss after coming on in relief in the sixth inning, allowing five runs on five hits, walking two and striking out two.
